Sales Manager
Overview : SkipperBuds is seeking a Sales Manager. If you are driven to lead, motivated by market dominance, love great competition, and enjoy the financial rewards of selling and sales management, then we can float your boat like no one else. This is not your typical sales management role. You will find yourself digging into daily call reports, managing multi-million dollar inventories, motivating and training a staff of sales reps and spending time with customers on the water. Balancing and prioritizing these can present challenges, but in the end, the right person can bring it all together in what has been called the most rewarding career in the marine industry.
This is a unique role requiring the right person with experience and talents in all the areas listed above.
- An understanding of dealership operations, trade allowances, invoice advances, promotional activities, and sales team accountability are all required talents.
- Boating experience and knowledge is also required in order to commentate and understand the pleasures and challenges of the boating lifestyle.

Supervisory responsibilities include :
Interviewing, hiring and training Sales Team Members;Planning, assigning and directing work;Appraising performance;Rewarding and disciplining Team Members;Addressing complaints and resolving problemsEstablish sales quotas and goals and advise sales department of sales and advertising techniquesCommission sheet approvalOversee inventory control Recommend or approve budget, expenditures and appropriationsPrepare periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential salesAct as a liaison between the sales department and other related unitsResolve customer complaints or concerns and explore ways to better serve our customersProvide ordering assistance to the products departmentCreate marketing strategies using print media advertising, E-Bay and other on-line servicesAssist staff with the sales effort, including explaining features, demonstrating operation of boat, suggesting optional equipment, etc. to customersCompute and quote sales price, including tax, trade-in allowance, license fee, etc. and communicate the requirements for financing the purchaseProject a professional and knowledgeable image to all customersStay appraised to local market sales trends to act accordingly and in a timely manner.Maintain an orderly showroom conducive to a professional selling environment.Assist with moving boats in and out of showroomParticipate in personal development via appropriate training programs and implement such training programs to all Sales Team MembersAttend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy making as requiredCoordinate, execute, and attend boat shows and other off-site promotional opportunities.Strategic planning of our marketing efforts to maximize market share results.Other duties as assignedMarineMax and its subsidiaries uses E-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
