Senior Payroll Analyst (Dallas, TX)

Austin Industries has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Payroll Analyst at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with support activities associated with the administration, reporting, auditing, and delivery of payroll services to operations and management. This person will research and advise staff concerning the accounting treatment of complex transactions such as payroll-related accounting, tax administration, and financial reporting.
Functional Responsibilities :
- Supporting Full-cycle Payroll Processing
- Engaging in External / Internal Audits
- Statutory and Financial Reporting
- Providing Analytical Support
Responsibilities :
Keeps requisite tax and insurance data, such as rates and wage limits up-to-date in processing systemReviews and supervises administrator's calculation of tax liabilitiesResponsible for payment of resulting tax liabilities and required reportingPerforms wage and payroll related tax analysis and calculations as requested by HR and managementResearches and implements controls within processing system to ensure legal compliance for tax and wage payment obligationsServes as backup to Payroll Administrators, Payroll Supervisor / Manager as necessaryMaintains ongoing written and verbal contact with department leads to ensure accurate cost postingActively engages in audit activities including owner, insurance, tax, internal, and year-end auditsPrepares various reports and submits third party payments for garnishments, taxes, certified payrolls, etc.Provides payroll-related accounting, tax administration, and financial reporting to internal and external customersTrains and supports staff to ensure all the required reports are prepared timely and accuratelyAssists with record keeping, filing, and other administrative or clerical dutiesProvides analytical support to fulfill various ad hoc requestsEnsures effective team coverage by cross training on various roles and responsibilitiesAdditional duties as assignedQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field is preferredCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferredAbility to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environmentIntermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite such as Word, Excel, and OutlookSpanish fluency is a plusMust be able to work under pressure, to multi-task, and meet deadlinesConstruction Industry experience is preferred, but not requiredExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsDependable and capable of working efficiently and independently in a professional settingBe an effective communicator with strong customer service skillsHave strong attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple priorities under stressAbility to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlinesRequirements :
Associates degree in Accounting, Business or related field is required6+ years' experience in payroll, accounting or financeCandidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
