Security Officer - Unarmed Logistics Patrols

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Logistics Patrols in Des Plaines, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and promoting a secure environment within a logistics and distribution location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing outstanding customer service and communication to everyone on site. Pay Rate : $18.24 / Hour

Job Schedule : DayTime

Friday 09 : 00 PM - 09 : 00 AM

Saturday 09 : 00 PM - 09 : 00 AM

Sunday 09 : 00 PM - 04 : 00 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the logistics and distribution location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or unusual occurrences within the logistics and distribution environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and / or delivery personnel as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and / or daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as needed.
  • Support emergency response efforts by following established protocols specific to logistics and distribution operations.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
