Overview

The Opportunity : Elemental LED is a leading U.S. based engineering and technology company that creates, develops, manufactures, markets and sells innovative, configured and integrated LED lighting solutions. The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) has awarded Elemental LED as the "Company of the Year - Large" at the 7th Annual EDAWN Existing Industry Awards event, and "Employees First - Large" at the 10th Annual EDAWN Existing Industry Awards event.

The position described is a Temporary Full-Time Assembly Technician I reporting under Production leadership, responsible for hands-on technical assembly of linear lighting applications with attention to detail and adherence to safety practices.

The core hours are Monday - Friday, 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM, and the pay is $20.50 / hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with implementing projects of customized LED components and / or systems
  • Performs a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks
  • Follows established procedures and guidelines to check, test and inspect finished goods before they are shipped from the distribution center to the customer
  • Conducts tests on electrical function, reliability and packaging quality and records results
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of relevant experience or equivalent experience and training
  • Ability to safely use metrology tools and equipment including calipers, handheld photometer, and a multimeter to evaluate product conformance
  • Ability to strategize, plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks; ability to organize own work, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Work with low voltage electricity
  • Knowledge of quality best practices that can be applied in the company's environment
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles; ISO regulations a plus
  • Knowledge of LEDs, LED drivers, controls, basic lighting terminology, photometry and applications
  • Knowledge of test equipment including multimeters, calipers, and handheld photometers
  • Operate and maintain modern office equipment, including computer equipment and software applications
  • Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and safety guidelines
  • Effective communication in person, over the telephone, and in writing in English
