POSITION TITLE : Estimator

REPORTS TO : Estimating Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Execute all estimating functions for Wyatt Field Service Company including the creation of well-organized, accurate, compelling and ultimately successful proposals for Turnarounds throughout the Petrochemical industry.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

• Monitor equipment, materials and contracted prices in key cost areas. Maintain and help develop a unit rate database based on those key costs.
• Review cost proposals and actual cost reports from completed projects to establish standard summary cost reports, variance analyses and update construction cost data base.
• Calculate statistical data such as quantity take-offs, materials, labor, equipment, and specialty items necessary for preparing budgets and capital forecasts.
• Incorporate feedback from existing and new projects to keep cost database up to date.
• Review proposed project requirements, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate costs to complete the project.
• Conduct project site visits with construction management personnel and Client / EPC contractors.
• Display personal and professional ethics and complies with company policies and procedures.
• Develop a complete Mechanical estimate inclusive of shop fabrication, pipe erection, equipment setting, and instrumentation based on the Request for Proposal Documents.
• Quantify project quantities using on screen and manual take off tools.
• Assemble estimates into project estimates for intermediary budgeting and bid day submittals.
• Attend Pre-Bid Meetings / Site Visits to evaluate constructability, site conditions, and factors that could impact labor productivities.
• Develop a complete labor and material estimate inclusive of general conditions (ie staff, equipment, consumables, etc.) inclusive of labor productivities and installation schemes.
• Interface with Rigging Engineer to develop crane requirements
• Interface with Scheduling Engineer to develop "waterfall" logic and support resource loading of the proposal schedule.
• Interface with in-house Procurement or outside vendors to obtain subcontractor proposal or commodity pricing.
