Medical Assistant Supervisor
Greater Family Health is a multi-site federally qualified health center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services within the Chicagoland area. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable health care for all including those without the ability to pay.
The primary purpose of this role would be to perform both clinical and supervisory duties, such as training and mentoring other medical assistants, overseeing daily clinical operations, and assist providers and nursing staff within the clinic.
Responsibilities :
- Guide and train medical assistants, ensuring they understand best practices and company protocols, and delegate tasks to other medical assistants as permitted by Clinic Manager.
- Monitor the performance of the medical assistant team, providing guidance, feedback, and assistance with corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for the team and a resource to other clinical staff, facilitating communication between the medical assistant team and other departments.
- Ensure clinical operations adhere to quality standards, manage patient flow efficiently, and assist in quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform and document daily set up, stocking, maintenance of supply levels, and clean all clinical areas and equipment, including the washing and sterilization of instruments.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Collect and process / label laboratory specimen for testing and accurately complete lab requisitions.
- Perform CLIA waived testing, EKGs, injections / immunizations, and more, as directed by nursing and provider staff.
- Provide patient education as directed by provider, i.e., providing instructions for laboratory, radiology, and other medical testing / procedures.
- Retrieve laboratory and other test results and submit for review by provider as necessary.
- Report to all scheduled work sites and shifts on time and fully prepared to engage in all job responsibilities; location of work sites and shifts will change at the discretion of the supervisor.
- Travel to other locations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
