Base pay range

$75.00 / hr - $82.00 / hr

Overview :

Our client is seeking an experienced Developer with expertise in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Large Language Model (LLM) integration, specifically leveraging OpenAI APIs . This contract role is fully remote and open to candidates located in the United States . You'll help build intelligent document-processing workflows that extract, interpret, and generate insights from unstructured data.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement OCR pipelines for extracting data from scanned or image-based documents.
  • Integrate OCR output with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI’s GPT models) to classify, summarize, or extract structured insights.
  • Build scalable APIs or microservices for document processing and AI-powered content handling.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define intelligent document workflows.
  • Continuously optimize the accuracy and performance of OCR + LLM integration.
  • Ensure data privacy, compliance, and best practices when working with sensitive content.

Requirements :

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with OCR technologies (e.g., Tesseract, AWS Textract, Google Vision API, or similar).
  • Proficient in Python or another backend language commonly used for AI integrations.
  • Experience working with OpenAI’s API (or similar LLM platforms) for prompt engineering and content generation.
  • Strong understanding of NLP concepts, text parsing, and data extraction workflows.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, asynchronous task management, and microservice architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote team.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in document automation or intelligent document processing (IDP).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Understanding of prompt tuning, embeddings, or vector search.

    • Compensation :

    Contract. Competitive hourly rate based on experience and skill set.
