job_description.job_card.job_descriptionAssess risk and underwrite prospective and inforce clients within Group Benefit Solutions product portfolio : Life, Accident, Disability, Absence Administration, and Voluntary Benefits Communicate pricing, profitability, and risk profile of clients with internal matrix partners Contribute to company financial goals through risk decisions while balancing broader book performance Partner with underwriting team members to solve problems and negotiate with matrix partners to create long-term value for clients and the organization Collaborate with others to deliver effective risk management and underwriting solutions Active engagement in the LAUNCH Program during the first year Ongoing learning and development opportunities beyond the first year Develop a growth mindset, seek feedback, and learn from teammates' successes Meet deadlines for assigned tasks with a sense of urgency Prioritize multiple tasks with sound judgement Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Business Management, or related field preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred 3.0 GPA or higher High comfort with mathematics Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated leadership potential and customer-centric mindset Strong business acumen with leadership and innovative thinking Some travel may be required Salary range : $60,000 Overtime eligible : Nonexempt Discretionary bonus eligible : Yes Sales bonus eligible : No Benefits : Full package including leave programs, adoption assistance, student loan repayment programs; NYL Benefits Site for details

About This Job
LAUNCH, which stands for Leadership and Underwriting for New Career Hires, is designed to help you accelerate your underwriting career and establish early professional success. LAUNCH focuses on comprehensive technical training, hands-on learning, mentor support, and professional development opportunities.
What You'll Do
- As a Full-Time Underwriting Analyst in the LAUNCH Program, participate in structured training sessions focusing on technical training and professional development opportunities. These sessions will combine classroom and hands-on learning to establish a solid foundation in underwriting concepts and principles.
- Apply concepts by working on active business opportunities alongside a mentor, gaining independence in daily work and decision-making skills.
