Full-time Corporate Controller
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Corporate Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in accounting management, technical accounting, and possess an active CPA license. This role is critical in overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable insights to drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis :
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Analyze financial results and provide insightful commentary on variances and trendsPrepare and present financial reports to senior management and the Board of DirectorsManage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesCoordinate with external auditors for annual audits and reviewsAccounting Operations Management :Direct and supervise the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsEnsure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and regulationsOversee cash management and treasury functionsManage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial partnersBudgeting and Forecasting :Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare periodic forecasts
Develop financial models to support strategic planning and decision-makingMonitor budget variances and work with department heads to address discrepanciesProvide financial guidance and support for business initiatives and special projectsTechnical Accounting :Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and issuesImplement new accounting pronouncements and ensure proper applicationDevelop and maintain documentation for significant accounting policies and estimatesRisk Management and Internal Controls :Establish and maintain an effective system of internal controls
Conduct periodic risk assessments and implement mitigation strategiesEnsure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements, if applicableIdentify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductionsTax Planning and Compliance :Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
Coordinate with tax advisors on tax planning strategiesManage tax audits and examinationsStay informed about changes in tax laws and regulationsTeam Leadership and Development :Recruit, train, and mentor accounting staff
