Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location : Newburgh, Indiana (47630) – Indiana nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) Contract Length : 13 weeks Start Date : October 6, 2025 Shift : 12-hour night shifts (6 : 00 PM – 6 : 30 AM) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed (except holidays / orientation) Weekend / Holiday Rotation : Every other weekend and holiday Floating : Required to other cardiac, stepdown, or telemetry units; occasional campus float (rarely mid-shift) Scrub Colors : Red top, black bottoms (no competing logos) Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1780-$1910 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Indiana Single State RN License (Registered Nurse) Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or similar specialty experience At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment (no new travelers) Certifications : AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (must be submitted with application) EPIC charting experience required; CUPID experience highly preferred Ability to pass Telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation tests Must reside outside a 40-mile radius from Newburgh, IN Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver pre- and post-care for Cath Lab / EP procedures and cardiac surgery admissions Administer and titrate cardiac drips (cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, cardene, heparin) Perform and interpret Telemetry and 12-lead EKGs Start IVs, perform radial artery sheath removal, manage TR bands, and arterial lines Monitor and trend troponin levels and other cardiac markers Care for cardiac admissions, procedure recovery, TAVR / LAAO recoveries, and cardiac observation patients Float to other cardiac, stepdown, or telemetry units as needed Precept students and new hires in a teaching hospital setting Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel Cardiac Stepdown RN in Newburgh, Indiana, and take the next step in your nursing career!
