A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney in Parkersburg, WV. The role involves representing clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, and domestic abuse cases. The attorney will actively participate in courtroom proceedings and client strategy development.

Duties

  • Represent clients in family law hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and final orders.
  • Guide clients through complex legal and emotional situations.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and senior attorneys on case strategy.
  • Oversee case files, track progress, and manage deadlines.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Occasionally travel for hearings across WV.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
  • Excellent courtroom presence and legal writing skills.
  • Strong communication and client relationship abilities.
  • Confidence under pressure and compassion for people in crisis.
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

    • Certifications

  • Bar admission in West Virginia.

    • Skills

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Effective negotiation and mediation abilities.
  • Proficiency in case management software.
  • Full health, dental, and vision insurance.
