SUMMARY AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION :
Provide HR support to Prairie Island CBH Inc, including staffing and HRIS. Oversee activities like employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services. The HR Generalist should be passionate about employee training and education.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain and enhance HR systems to meet organizational needs.
- Manage and oversee the hiring process : job descriptions, recruitment, background checks, and onboarding.
- Oversee all stages of employment : onboarding, training, reviews, discipline, and terminations.
- Facilitate ongoing staff training and certification maintenance.
- Collaborate with all managers to address employee issues and promote positive work relationships.
- Ensure compliance with legal record-keeping requirements.
- Assist in progressive disciplinary actions, improvement plans, and terminations.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints.
- Maintain employee records and handle unemployment claims.
- Assist in building company culture that aligns with cannabis industry values and regulatory expectations.
- Ability to coordinate meetings and agendas across multiple departments, maintain clear communication and follow-up on action items.
- Perform other assigned duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
2-3 years with an associate's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, or relevant HR experience.Professional appearance, attitude, and interpersonal / social skills.Must complete the application and Cannabis Commission licensing process in a timely and professional manner.Experience in employee training.Strong problem resolution, critical thinking, and analytical skills.Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.Ability to manage budgets and control labor expenses.Knowledge of cannabis industry policies, compliance standards, and regulations.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Capable of working independently and within a team.Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.HR experience in government and / or tribal settingHRIS navigational skillsExperience with compensation programsTECHNICAL SKILLS :
