Job Description :

The Office of Readiness and Response includes : District Public Health, Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Office of Rural Health and Primary Care, and the Office of Data, Research and Vital Statistics.

Join Maine CDC's District Public Health team and help address public health issues in communities where you live! This position will work under the guidance of the Maine CDC's District Public Health Liaison (DL), to assist municipalities, private and public entities within the public health district in implementing public health and emergency preparedness education and mitigation efforts. This position will respond to inquiries regarding the latest COVID 19 guidance and protocols from constituents and others within the district. This position will support and coordinate with the DL and other Maine CDC programs within the public health unit to implement Maine CDC public health priorities and initiatives. This position will assist the DL in emergency preparedness trainings and exercises within the district and support local public health emergency preparedness efforts. This position will develop and distribute district specific public health communications. This position will also convene local private and public partners at the request of the DL to help plan and implement essential public health services across the district.

You will also :

  • Develop fact sheets, frequently asked question documents, template letters, etc.
  • Present educational materials publicly through meetings, presentations, and written materials as directed
  • Develop and maintain partner communication tools
  • Attends relevant meetings, work sessions, and conferences
  • Other duties as assigned to support Maine CDC and DHHS public health initiatives within the district
  • Minimum Qualifications :

    A Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Community Health Education, Health Education and two (2) years experience in community or health education program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Directly related work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

    Preferred candidates will also have :

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and summarize a variety of information
  • Demonstrated skill applying best practices and standards for health communication, page layout, and information design.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external partners
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of graphic design and mapping software
  • Knowledge of and experience with website development and maintenance
