Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of recent diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab experience, including ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position based in a Level I trauma, acute care, Magnet hospital
  • Work in a dedicated cardiac cath lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Middle-aged and older adult patient population
  • 3x12 hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM
  • On-call coverage required as needed
  • Must be available to work 2-3 weekends per contract and 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • No floating outside the assigned unit
  • Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience required
  • Responsibilities include conducting cardiac cath lab procedures, equipment setup, procedural responsibilities, and infection control compliance
  • Must demonstrate competency in age-specific care for middle-aged and older adults
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Candidates must not have been a perm or PRN employee at the facility within the past 12 months
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO auto-approved; additional time off requires approval
  • Parking permit is provided at no cost and arranged during orientation
  • Completion of onboarding modules required on first day and annually thereafter
  • Candidates may be considered if first-time travelers

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Minimum 1 year recent experience in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
  • Current IL license required if applicable
  • Active BLS, ACLS, ARRT, and RCIS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted)
  • Experience with cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement / removal, Rotablader athrectomy, and scrub procedures
  • Ability to set up equipment, recognize life-threatening arrhythmias, use isolation precautions, and maintain sterile technique
  • Experience with Cerner EMR required
  • Proficiency in adult cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures
