Responsibilities Work in a 4-bed hospital OR specializing in orthopedics and specialty surgeries Surgical cases include ortho, podiatry, neurosurgical, pain management, ENT, total joints, ORIF, microsurgery, laminectomy, fusion, discectomy, ACDF, and pain injections Handles an average of 7-13 cases per day 8-hour day shifts with holiday coverage required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Call is typically required twice per week and will be discussed further during the interview Possible floating to Rapid City hospital OR as needed Epic charting system experience required Duties include circulating in a variety of surgical specialties and collaborating with an anesthesia / CRNA team Support available from resource nurse and phlebotomy; no IV / VAT team or RT on unit First day dedicated to computer training followed by 2-3 days of preceptor-led orientation Scrub color is provided for staff Free parking available for staff Requirements Active RN license in South Dakota or compact state Minimum 1.5 years of OR RN experience required First-time travelers considered only with 2 years of experience Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and PALS Completion of an approved nursing education program Experience with circulation in orthopedic, neurosurgical, and ENT cases required Must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility Former permanent staff must wait one year to return as a traveler Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620301.
