About the Role :
The CBRF Resident Assistant plays a critical role in providing compassionate and attentive care to residents within a Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF). This position is responsible for supporting the daily living activities of residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being in a respectful and dignified manner. The Resident Assistant collaborates closely with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to create a supportive environment that promotes independence and quality of life. This role requires vigilance in monitoring residents’ health status and promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel. Ultimately, the Resident Assistant contributes to fostering a positive, safe, and nurturing community atmosphere within the facility.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Completion of state-required certification for CBRF Resident Assistants or active CNA license.
- Basic knowledge of personal care techniques and resident safety protocols.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and personal care tasks.
- Be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications :
Two- year experience working with residential care or assisted living settingHigh school diploma or equivalentFamiliarity with state regulations governing Community-Based Residential Facilities.Responsibilities :
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.Monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being and report any changes or concerns to supervisors.Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.Provide companionship and engage residents in social and recreational activities to enhance their quality of life.Document member care provided and maintains accurate records in compliance with facility protocols and confidentiality requirements.Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or incidents, following established procedures.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individualized care plans and promote resident-centered care.Skills :
Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, management, and co-workersSuperior customer service skillsAbility to handle multiple prioritiesReliable and dependable with attendance and punctualityExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to make independent decisions without supervisionPossesses good character and displays high degree of personal integrity.Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired or physically disabled adults.Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of other people and their familiesDemonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsMust be able to recognize condition changes of a resident and be able to report this immediately to managementTime management and organizational skills help in balancing multiple care tasks and documentation requirements efficiently.Must be able to complete fifteen hours of training related to medication administration, resident’s rights, diabetes, first aid, health, safety, and welfare of residents, standard precautions, and fire and safety within six months of their hire date.After the fifteen hours of training, resident assistants will have to complete yearly eight hours of training to keep their position at The Meadows of Mount Pleasant.
