About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Obstetrics

Must-Have :

• Experience in interpretation of fetal monitor strips
• Attendance at vaginal delivery
• Immediate care and resuscitation of newborn

Description :

Candidates must badge in and out at the facility.

Scrubs will be provided in navy blue.

General job duties include care of OB triage, labor and delivery, postpartum, well-newborn, and special care nursery.

Experience with IV, antibiotics, short-term respiratory support (CPAP or O2), and GYN surgical patients is required.

The unit utilizes computerized charting with EPIC systems and OBIX for fetal monitoring.

There will be 2 OB trained staff in-house at all times.

Shifts will generally be 8 or 12 hours on weekdays.

Weekend work is required for 2 out of every 3 weekends.

Weekend shifts will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, either 7 AM to 7 : 30 PM or 7 PM to 7 : 30 AM.

Staff may float to the general medical unit if census is low.

The unit comprises 12 beds, including 2 triage rooms, 5 labor and delivery rooms, and 5 overflow postpartum / GYN surgical rooms.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 for mom / baby couplets, 1 : 2 for early labor, 1 : 1 for active labor, and 1 : 3 for post-op.

The new hire will participate in a safety program checklist and competency skills for equipment.

Training will last 2-3 days, depending on experience.

Candidates should be prepared to work during holidays as needed.
