The Human Resource Consultant reports to the VP of Employer Services Division.

The position is an exempt, salaried role, located at 500 Steed Road, Ridgeland MS 39157.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Human Resources Consultant assist Employer Services Clients in compliance and all things related to Human Resources for their companies. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Analyzes HR practices for customers or companies and make recommendations for benefits, employment, or legal compliance.
  • Provides sales proposals and demonstrations to prospects and clients for informational and technical (IT) systems designed to administer payroll, HR, and benefit administration functions.
  • Advises employers or agents with organizational policies and prepares reports or presentations.
  • Coaches or assist in coordinating HR initiatives including recruitment, staffing, compensation, benefits, training.
  • Promotes and advises agents or clients on compliance with State and Federal statutory requirements including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Affirmative Action Plans, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Unemployment and Workers' Compensation, HIPAA regulations, and other State / Federal employment laws.
  • Develops future markets for MWG products or services including insurance, onboarding, or human resources needs.
  • May provide direct sales support and assist with open enrollments with the Sales Agents and their clients.
  • Will be required to travel to prospect and client locations using personal transportation.
  • May be required to obtain associated professional designations and continuing education.

Communicate with clients regarding payroll administration and ability to make changes in group or client payroll records.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Manager.
  • EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 or more years of Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Tools.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Skill Levels in Microsoft Excel and Word are required.
  • Previous experience writing reports and spreadsheets and drafting compliance documents is a bonus.
  • Must possess strong time management, organizational, problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
