Job description :

a progressive dairy operation is searching for an experienced Breeding / Herd Health Manager. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of heifer management, including feeding and nutrition, herd health, and reproduction programs such as synchronization and artificial insemination. Additional responsibilities include overseeing daily livestock care, assisting with facility maintenance and upgrades, and contributing to efficient herd operations.

Key Responsibilities - Manage daily care and health of replacement heifers.

• Oversee and execute herd reproduction programs, including artificial insemination (AI), synchronization, and pregnancy checks.
• Monitor reproductive performance and herd health metrics using herd management and tracking systems.
• Work closely with the management team to ensure proper vaccination, nutrition, and breeding schedules.
• Maintain accurate health and breeding records.
• Assist with calving, newborn care, and pre-fresh management.
• Support seasonal harvest operations as needed.
• Collaborate with other employees and part-time staff to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
• Train and mentor support staff in animal handling and reproductive practices as appropriate.

Work Environment - Mid-sized, expanding heifer operation handling dairy genetics.
