Primary Function
The Plant Manager will supervise day to day concrete plant preparation, production, maintenance, and repair and quality control activities at the batch plant. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager of Triple Crown Concrete.
Position Requirements
Exercise discretion and good judgment in supervising the hourly workforce. These tasks include : directing, training, counseling, and disciplining to include suspending employees from work or discharge for serious rule infractions or poor job performance as necessary.
Maintain plant housekeeping, environmental, and safety policy to comply with company, state, and local governing rules.
Control and minimize plant costs while providing a consistent quality product.
Capable of measuring raw material inventories and the ability to order and maintain inventory levels sufficient for the successful ongoing operation of the batch plant.
Provide preventative maintenance and the repair of equipment as needed.
Ensure that all products meet 100% total quality requirements; take samples and test as necessary; ensure all equipment is working properly; complete all required reports timely and accurately; inform proper personnel of any quality problems that need resolving.
Ensure all vehicles and equipment continually remains in safe and efficient operating condition; monitor all preventative and regular maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Maintain adequate levels of all supplies and products (i.e. fuel, cement, admixtures, fiber, etc.); maintain accurate and current reports as required.
Collect all COD monies and tickets; complete all required reports and deposits accurately and timely; maintain proper security on all monies.
Ensure that all company safety regulations and policies are followed at ALL times by creating an attitude of safety.
Ensure that all company environmental regulations and policies are followed.
Schedule and truck loading will be decided at dispatch level and schedule shipments to meet customer demands.
Maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers; able to provide effective advice and services in order to maintain and improve machinery, equipment and facilities; review all recommendations for performance management for production personnel; review and discuss results of production reports and profit-loss statements; lead and direct the works of others; enforces compliance with all OSHA regulations and ensures plants and locations operate in a safe and secure manner; develop and maintain methods and procedures to help reduce manufacturing costs and costs of related services within plants and the assigned region; may recommend or determine re-assignment or shifting of production among plants assigned; regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required; and other duties as assigned per supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, preferred in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or related field; 3+ years related experience and / or training in related functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred; good aptitude for logistics, planning, and scheduling; superior organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and projects; ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management; knowledge of customer service principles and practices; excellent communication skills and professional personal presentation; organizing; planning, and customer service orientation; maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements; have a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards; strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook; have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required; wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA; must be willing to travel and work away from home when required; must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary; individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA; compliance with all OSHA and / or MSHA regulations; ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations; ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; ability to work well and efficiently with others; ability to work with computer software, including Microsoft Office; great attention to detail and stress tolerance; and proficient knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
