Position Summary :
Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in the Greater Frankfort, IN area who is seeking a highly skilled controls engineer. This person's primary focus will be on troubleshooting and ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing automated systems, improving production efficiency, and upholding quality standards. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and drive continuous advancements in manufacturing performance.
Must Haves :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
3+ years of experience in controls programming in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and HMI development.
Job Responsibilities :
Maintain and optimize control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes. Responsibilities include PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development, and integrating sensors and actuators to support automated operations.
Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, perform regular inspections, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and ensure consistent, high-performance operation.
Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, productivity, and quality. Design and implement solutions to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
Partner with quality teams to define, implement, and maintain process and product quality standards. Monitor performance metrics, identify defects, and execute corrective and preventive actions to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Lead or support initiatives such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen events to drive operational excellence. Champion efforts to enhance efficiency, lower costs, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
