Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Body Shop Manager to lead our high-volume collision center. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader who will oversee all aspects of the body shop's operations, from team development and financial performance to customer satisfaction and quality control. You will be responsible for driving business, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring that every vehicle is repaired to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop a high-performing team of technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and excellence.
Manage daily workflow and scheduling to maximize productivity, optimize cycle time, and meet promised delivery dates.
Hire, train, mentor, and monitor the performance of all department staff, providing technical assistance and guidance as needed.
Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss goals, address challenges, and promote open communication.
Financial & Operational Management
Develop and manage the annual operating budget , forecasting goals and analyzing key performance indicators to ensure departmental profitability.
Demonstrate strong financial acumen by effectively reading and managing a Profit and Loss (P&L) report .
Oversee all financial transactions, including the preparation of final invoices, collection of accounts receivable, and monitoring technician payroll.
Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and recommending new equipment, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Coordinate seamlessly with the parts department to ensure the timely availability of parts.
Customer & Partner Relations
Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with insurance carriers and adjusters, effectively managing all Direct Repair Programs (DRPs).
Champion an outstanding customer experience from initial contact to final delivery, handling any concerns with professionalism and empathy to encourage repeat and referral business.
Supervise communications and activities with towing services to ensure a smooth process for our customers.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Implement and enforce rigorous quality control standards , performing final inspections on all completed jobs to ensure they meet or exceed OEM repair procedures.
Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations , including OSHA and hazardous waste disposal protocols.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in both production areas and customer-facing spaces.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a production-based auto body repair facility.
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with the CCC ONE® estimating platform.
Proven expertise in managing and monitoring Insurance Direct Repair Programs (DRPs) .
Deep working knowledge of OEM repair procedures and their proper application.
Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L analysis, and inventory management .
Exceptional communication, leadership, and managerial skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Ability to read and comprehend complex technical information and instructions.
Requirements
Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair, with an emphasis on structural repairs. Knowledge of welding techniques and use of specialized tools and equipment. Experience in frame and suspension alignment. Ability to read and interpret repair orders and technical manuals. Attention to detail and quality workmanship. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Relevant certification(s) such as ASE Structural Technician or I-CAR Gold Class certification is preferred. Experience utilizing Car-O-Liner, Chief, Genesis, or Celette highly preferred Physical Demands : Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead. We are seeking candidates for this position who meet specific qualifications. A valid driver's license is a mandatory requirement, and successful candidates must also pass a mandatory drug test. Additionally, a clean driving record is essential for consideration.
