Accounting Position

Summary : Responsible for billing and related processes, daily deposits, and accounts payable and receivable functions. Monthly close processes, bank reconciliations and journal entries will also fall within this position. This person works with confidential information, so a high degree of integrity is required for the position. Part of a team responsible for the completion of a variety of financial support functions with many duties shared between team members and rotated for back-up coverage.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.

  • Front facing customer service attitude.
  • Maintain account payables and receivables by processing invoices, preparing checks, and managing billing and collection procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues.
  • Track employee reimbursements and ensure timely processing and documentation.
  • Complete daily deposit and submit to bank.
  • Serve as a backup for payroll preparation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in processing employee compensation.
  • Provide relevant reports or documentation for audit purposes.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and preparation of general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.
  • Assist in the maintenance of various cash accounts and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in end of month closing activities.
  • Assure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business degree with a Finance concentration.
  • Two years accounting experience preferred.
  • Microsoft product proficiency with excellent Excel skills.
  • Quickbooks experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and bookkeeping practices and systems.
  • Adaptability to new technologies and process improvements.
  • Great attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Excellent math and numerical skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor required with high standard for confidentiality.
  • Physical Demands :

  • Ability to see, speak, and hear.
  • Frequent sitting with use of arms, hands and fingers on computer keyboard.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional standing and walking.
  • Work Environment :

  • Work is primarily performed in an indoor office environment.
  • The noise level is quiet.
