Student Employee - Financial Aid Specialist
Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.
Hours : 15-19 hours a week during semester and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit.
Specific Summary of Duties :
This position will work extensively with students and, often many times, their parents as the first point of contact in the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office. Daily duties will include collecting documents from students, answering financial aid / scholarship questions via email, telephone, and / or in-person, scanning and indexing documents, processing financial aid paperwork, filing, some data entry, and other projects as needed. Communications with other departments such as the Cashier's or Admissions Offices.
Job Qualification :
Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits (3 per block) and in good academic standing.
Ability to produce effective written correspondence through email and other written communication.
Have the ability to communicate effectively, listen and respond appropriately.
Highly self-motivated, hard worker, creative, and has a great attention to detail.
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the supervisor, team members, faculty, and staff.
Ability to solve problems and ask for clarification as needed.
Proficient in Office 365 and Canvas.
Physical demands may include typing and lifting documents or materials as necessary.
