Responsibilities Work in a medical-surgical / telemetry unit focused on oncology patients Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, primarily with solid tumor cancers and chemotherapy encounters Typical staffing ratio aimed at 1 : 4, occasionally 1 : 5 Day (7 : 00–19 : 30) and night (19 : 00–7 : 30) 12-hour shifts available with variable weekend requirements Self-scheduling is utilized with final schedules balanced by unit needs Mandatory floating to other Med / Surg Oncology units as needed Utilizes Epic for charting Care for oncology patients along the treatment spectrum, from diagnosis to end-of-life transitions Emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention First week of orientation is Monday–Friday dayshift; second week consists of 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor Fingerprinting and compliance must be completed promptly per Ohio state regulations Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers Return to work eligible for former employees after six months away; current employees not eligible All time off requests must be disclosed prior to assignment Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required BLS certification required Completion of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required Competency in telemetry interpretation and monitoring required Reference requirements : 2 professional references with at least 1 from a manager, director, or charge RN Previous travel nursing experience preferred Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required ONS Chemo certification preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-619642.
