Motor Vehicle Operator
The BookOps Logistics Distribution Department is primarily responsible for picking up and delivering patron requested materials to 150 branches across 4 boroughs. This volume is in the range of 8 million circulating items per year, each of which are moved efficiently, supporting a 48-hour turnaround time for patrons. This service level is a foundation of NYPL's strategic goal of "More People Reading More". It is made possible through the full staffing and leveraging of this unit. The unit also supports the physical logistics of countless projects aligned with Learning, Creating, and Reading such as Summer Reading, Library Card Campaign, and MyLibraryNYC.
