North America Head of Fund Accounting, AM’s is a key leadership position within the Global Fund Accounting Team in Global Delivery. The role is responsible for organization, management and delivery of the entire suite of accounting services to asset manager clients in North America, delivering core services to State Street end customers. The North America Head of Fund Accounting, AM’s function is directly accountable for positive and consistent service delivery and client outcomes, requiring significant leadership across North America. The position reports to the North America Head of Fund Accounting and ensures services meet or exceed State Street Standards globally.
- Multi‑jurisdictional accounting, including daily share‑class net asset value calculation
- Maintaining client books and records in accordance with agreed accounting standards
- Active engagement and oversight of the asset manager funds India services delivered to North America clients
What you will be responsible for
Ensuring accounting activities are performed and client services are delivered in accordance with contractual and SLA requirements, focusing on client outcomes and effective communication across the organizationMaintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness, delivering services efficiently with continuous focus on quality and productivity, and ensuring NAV calculations are accurate; AIS accounting services are not includedDocumenting, adhering to, and ensuring operating policies, procedures and controls comply with SOC / ISAE controls and regulatory requirementsTracking key metrics, performance and risk indicators to manage volume, service‑delivery quality, cost, productivity and risk; identifying and developing opportunities for transformation and capacity creation to drive operational effectivenessManaging financial performance against the operating plan and forecasts, with active headcount and expense management to achieve agreed efficiency targetsRepresenting Fund Accounting in client meetings, presentations and due diligence reviewsExecuting business‑continuity planning and developing a scalable, robust operating model that delivers resilience, while maintaining strategic interactions with key stakeholders to ensure continued operationsDeveloping and leading a large team, fostering high performance and creating an attractive destination for top talent, with effective delegation, talent development, employee engagement and succession planningSupporting control, risk, compliance / ethics and internal audit reviews or inspections, ensuring no open or overdue actions for accountingWhat we value
A proven track record at a senior global level in asset servicing or asset management with over 15 years of leadership experience within operations or technologyAbility to navigate a large, global organization, building meaningful relationships and an effective networkAbility to process feedback and develop meaningful actions to resolve identified challenges within reasonable timeframesSolid technical knowledge of accounting and fund services, with deep experience interfacing at a senior level with clients across product segments, market trends, third‑party managers and regulatorsProven leadership skills and success in managing and developing a high‑performing operations teamExceptional communication and relationship‑management skills, thinking strategically, managing complexity and multiple key prioritiesExcellent time management, presentation skills and communication to multiple audiences (clients, third parties, executives, peers, subordinates) with flexibility across formatsTrack record of exceeding financial goals through expense discipline and headcount managementCross‑cultural awareness and the ability to connect with colleagues globally in a collaborative, open environment; role model of acceptance and flexibility across diverse backgroundsWillingness for regular business travelEducation & Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of experience in financial services, presently in a leadership role managing large operationsTechnical knowledge of fund accounting activities and associated regulationsExperience interfacing at a senior level with clients, service providers and regulatorsAbout State Street

Salary Range : $170,000 – $252,500 Annual
