Job Details

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Work collaboratively within a team of technical professionals in supporting day-to-day operations and

forward-thinking goals by applying CAD-based design knowledge and skills to a range of engineering

projects.

2. Create and modify detailed drawings, sketches, and layouts using SolidWorks software.

3. Design or redesign complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal communication to meet

customers’ specifications.

4. Review drawings for correctness and conformance to industry standards and company design

philosophy.

5. Work with engineers on model accuracy, designs, drafting standards and project documentation.

6. Work within a project lifecycle to release new, and revise, product designs and documentation in a timely

manner.

7. Design engineers and drafters work with application engineers, sales engineers and manufacturing to

design solutions based on client criteria.

8. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

2. Solid understanding of engineering principles and ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings.

manner effectively and accurately.

5. Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which

includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes

change.

6. Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.

7. Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.

8. Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions based on facts and

data.

9. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, as needed, to best serve our business

operations.

Qualifications

At a minimum, the Design Engineer must have an associate degree in engineering / design, or related field of study

along with 2-4 years of mechanical design experience preferred and proven knowledge of Solidworks and Microsoft

Office Suite (Excel). A bachelor's degree in engineering / design, or related field of study, along with 2+ years of

mechanical design experience is preferred.
