Position overview

The Court Reporter performs senior professional level duties on a day-to-day basis to achieve the short- and long-term goals of the work group.

• Documents, maintains, and preserves required records and statistics as they pertain to departmental operations.
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws, statutes, regulations, and policies; may update staff or the work group on applicable changes.
• Recommends and / or develops departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintains and updates files.
• Manages special projects as directed.
• Stenographically records testimony of all court proceedings as requested by attorney(s) and / or the Court.
• Performs other related duties involved in the operation of the business as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, lift, push and pull.
