Are you passionate about supporting veterans and ensuring a safe, structured environment for those in need? We’re looking for a dedicated Direct Care Monitor to join our team at a veteran interim shelter. In this role, you'll be the go-to person during the overnight shift, helping ensure our veterans are comfortable and safe, and providing support as they transition into stable housing.
Responsibilities :
Conduct regular rounds to check on cubicles, ensuring veterans are adhering to shelter guidelines and doing what’s expected.
Assist veterans with maintaining a clean and organized cubicle, preparing for the next incoming resident.
Check in with veterans to ensure they have essential items, such as : Personal hygiene products, Towels, Blankets, Pillows
Submit timely reports, including bed check logs and any incident reports.
Help resolve conflicts that may arise between residents, using de-escalation techniques to maintain a peaceful environment.
Provide emotional support and be a reliable resource for veterans who may need assistance during the night.
Qualifications :
1+ year of experience working with homeless populations or a similar vulnerable group.
Strong ability to stay alert throughout the entire shift
Experience or training in de-escalation and conflict resolution is highly valued.
Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to varying situations.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with veterans.
Overnight shift 11PM-8AM
Pay Details : $20.00 to $21.00 per hour
