Playa Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, founded in 2014, and our mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 300+ unit operator and franchisor of the leading fast casual restaurant concept. Playa Bowls added more than 70+ locations in 2024 and are on target to add as many 90 new locations in 2025. WHO YOU ARE
The Senior Systems Analyst is a high-impact technology guru responsible for leading advanced application support, complex systems analysis, and enterprise-wide technology initiatives. This position serves as a subject matter expert for enterprise systems, overseeing integration, optimization, and digital transformation projects. The role demands deep technical expertise, strategic problem-solving, and leadership in both project execution and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate drives innovation, enhances system scalability, and ensures secure and efficient business operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
System Maintenance & Optimization
- Monitor POS / BOH system updates and oversee testing and rollout to minimize operational disruptions
- Integrate BOH systems with POS and other enterprise platforms for data consistency and operational efficiency
- Manage and optimize back-of-house (BOH) systems such as inventory, labor scheduling, and kitchen display systems (KDS)
- Ensure consistent configuration and performance across all restaurant locations
- Collaborate with operations and vendors to implement custom POS features and enhancements
- Configure and maintain POS systems, including menu setup, pricing, modifiers, and payment processing settings
- Support system integration across platforms and ensure data consistency
- Perform application performance monitoring and recommend improvements
Business Analysis & Documentation
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for systems and processesTranslate business needs into detailed functional specifications and system documentationMaintain up-to-date process flows, user stories, and business requirement documents (BRDs)Work with stakeholders to identify pain points and suggest system improvementsApplication Support & Troubleshooting
Provide Tier II technical support for enterprise applications (e.g., POS, ERP, HRIS)Diagnose and resolve system issues in collaboration with IT teams and vendorsMonitor and analyze system incidents to identify trends and root causesQuality Assurance & Testing
Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and test cases for new features and enhancementsConduct functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)Track and manage system defects through resolutionTraining, Documentation & Collaboration
Create user guides, knowledge base articles, and training materialsConduct training sessions for end-users and mentor junior IT / support staffCollaborate with departments to ensure smooth implementation of systems and usageIT Operations Support
Assist in provisioning laptops and setting up accounts (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)Support asset management and offboarding proceduresEnsure adherence to IT security and compliance standardsWHAT YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).3–5 years of experience in business systems analysis, application support, or IT operations.Knowledge of SDLC, QA methodologies, and enterprise applicationsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and ITSM tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionallyExperience with restaurant or retail systems (e.g., POS, digital ordering, loyalty) highly preferredFamiliarity with SQL for data validation and reporting preferredCertifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or Microsoft Azure Administrator preferredExperience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferredWORK CONDITIONS
Willingness to travel is needed or required, for local shop visits and company meetings; otherwise, work is completed in a remote settingMust be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and eveningsMust be 21 years of age to comply with state age travel requirementsMISSION
