Job Summary : The Transportation Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring safe, timely, and organized transportation services for individuals attending the day program. This position is responsible for coordinating daily transportation schedules, maintaining communication with drivers, staff, and caregivers, orienting new drivers, and ensuring that vehicles meet safety and compliance standards. The Transportation Coordinator works closely with program staff to support individuals with disabilities in accessing services within the community.
Mount Olivet Rolling Acres - MORA – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit has supported adults, seniors and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs as well as age-related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro.
MORA provides an array of services : Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.
Hourly Pay Rate : $21.50-$24.00 DOQ
Schedule Monday-Friday 7 : 45AM-3 : 45PM
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develops and maintain daily transportation schedules based on client and program needs.
- Communicate with clients, drivers, caregivers, and residential providers to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Serve as the primary contact for transportation-related inquiries and concerns
- Monitor and respond to daily route issues, including delays, cancellations, and emergencies.
- Track and record attendance and transportation usage to ensure accurate billing and reporting.
- Conduct regular safety checks of vehicles used for program-related transportation.
- Assist with ensuring that all drivers meet licensing and training requirements.
- Assist with orienting drivers to agency and department policies and procedures, as well as department vehicles.
- Ensures all vehicles in the program’s fleet are properly maintained and adhere to Department of Transportation regulations.
- Assist with client transportation services as needed.
- Administers medications without errors (as requested in the context of transportation).
- Works harmoniously with and shows respect for employees, supervisors, vendors, and consumers.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Desirable Qualifications :
At lease one year of experience working in transportation services, preferable with individuals with disabilitiesPrevious experience working with clients with I / DD is helpfulAble to flexibleBasic competency in the use of a computerRequired Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED requiredMust have a current, valid Minnesota driver's license.Department of Transportation Medical Examiners Certificate or able to obtain upon hire.Must be willing to submit to an annual check of driving record.Must have an acceptable driving record per company policy.Certified in CPR and Medication Administration or able to obtain upon hire.Excellent communication skillsProven leadership experienceMust pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status.Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General.Must be able to successfully complete the company’s physicial job demands documentIf using your own vehicle for company business, you must have a current, valid driver’s license and must have insurance as required by state law.Benefits : Full-time employees receive a comprehensive and competitive benefit package, including :
