Emergency Communications Assistant Supervisor
The City of Richmond Department of Emergency Communications, Preparedness and Response is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Emergency Communications Assistant Supervisor. This position assists in the supervision and training of staff. Work may include listening to calls to ensure quality assurance and compliance with protocols and service standards; creating monthly reports; providing employee feedback and training recommendations; and assisting with staff scheduling, training, candidate recruitment, testing, and selection. The selected candidate must be committed to providing leadership to the Emergency Communications Officers and providing the citizens of the City of Richmond excellent service as the first of the first responders in emergency situations.

This position is considered an Essential Personnel, which means that the incumbent is required to work when the City is closed due to public emergencies, critical or hazardous conditions or inclement weather. This position is required to work rotating shifts, routine weekends, holidays, and overtime assignments.

The essential duties of this classification may require the ability to regularly reach, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions; frequently stand and walk; and occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and lift. The working conditions may include environmental hazards. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
