Join our team as a Regional Public Transit Driver! In this role, you will provide safe and reliable transportation to passengers, helping them reach their destinations efficiently and professionally.
Key responsibilities include :
- Utilizing standard defensive driving techniques.
- Assisting passengers with disabilities to safely enter and exit the vehicle.
- Operating accessibility lifts (if applicable) and securing passengers appropriately.
- Providing excellent customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the transit vehicle.
- Operating electronic devices such as tablets for scheduling and communication.
Regional Driver Responsibilities
Long-distance driving across multiple counties.Advanced vehicle handling and strong GPS navigation skills.Adapting to changing routes and managing complex transfers.Ensuring passenger safety and comfort on extended trips.Requires additional certifications and proficiency with tablets and scheduling software.Must live within 30 miles of the garage location.Service Regions Include :
Cherokee, Van Zandt, Henderson, Rusk, Rains, Wood, Upshur, and Camp Counties.
Qualifications
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience :
Minimum 2 years of professional driving and customer service experience.Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and skills will be considered.Licensing :
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of local geography and defensive driving techniques.Ability to read maps, follow routes, and maintain schedules.Must pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background checks.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Proficiency with mobile tablets, email, and cell phones.Bilingual in Spanish preferred.Excellent professionalism and customer service required.Working Conditions
Daily driving throughout East Texas.Monthly exposure to weather extremes, road noise, and passenger-related noise.Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of sitting.Twisting, pulling, and pushing while assisting passengers.Bending, kneeling, and squatting to secure wheelchairs.Frequent climbing in and out of the vehicle.Schedule & Availability

Must be able to commute to Cherokee County, TX 75754.Must live within 30 miles of the vehicle access point OR be able to relocate before starting work.
