American Traveler is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and current BLS and NMTCB certification for a 13-week assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a nuclear medicine department performing general nuclear medicine studies including bone, renal, gastric emptying, GI bleeds, HIDA, thyroid uptake / scan, parathyroids, and VQ perfusion studiesAdditional procedures include cardiac, SPECT, PET / CT, and EPT / CT examsPatient population includes adolescents through geriatricsDaily caseload ranges from 15 to 18 studiesDepartment contains four rooms plus a PET / CT suiteDay shift schedule is five 8-hour shifts from 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PMOn-call required one night per week and one weekend per month, with call hours from 5 : 30 PM to 6 : 30 AM weekdays and 24 hours on weekendsUse of Epic for charting and PACS for imaging reviewMust attend either a one-day accelerated or two-day Epic Radiology CT orientation class unless employed at this hospital within the past 6 monthsPossible floating in rotation with client staff according to facility policyDuties include preparation, administration, and measurement of radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic studies under the supervision of a radiologistPrepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate dosing for administrationScrub color is pewter greyFacility is smoke and nicotine freeSome holiday coverage is expectedFirst-time travelers may be considered if highly experiencedPlanned or required time off must be submitted with initial application and approval is at the manager's discretion\n \n Requirements\n
Current BLS and NMTCB required, ARRT preferredActive VA license required or proof of application with current active license from another state (License required if applicable)Minimum of 2 years experience as a Nuclear Medicine TechnologistSkill in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, PACS, and proficiency in a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures including cardiac and SPECTAbility to work independently and handle all age groups from adolescents to geriatric patientsStatement of Epic experience must be provided for considerationCOVID and Flu vaccinations required per facility policy, with appropriate documentation for exemptions\n Benefits\n
