• Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an RN with at least 3 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience and active WA or compact license for a high-acuity L&D unit. Responsibilities
• Position is in a Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• High-acuity environment with 31 L&D rooms and 4 operating rooms
• Average daily census is 15 patients withdeliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OBs, and cases involving substance recovery and community care
• Required to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and sister Mother / Baby units as needed
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 30), work every other weekend, and holiday coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR—experience required
• Electronic fetal monitoring and advanced medication administration (heparin, insulin, magnesium sulfate) performed
• Responsibilities include both circulating RN and baby nurse roles during and after delivery, continuing newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• All travelers may be asked to float between facilities within the state as needed
• Return employees must have a 3-month separation and not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Pre-approved time off is reviewed case by case, and all RTO must be submitted with application
• Holiday and weekend work is required as part of standard scheduling
• A dress code of hospital-issued scrubs is enforced
• Orientation modules must be completed pre-start and annually
• Compliance process includes references, licensure, certifications, and background checks to be completed promptly Requirements
• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3-5 years of recent high-acuity Labor & Delivery experience in high-risk settings
• Must have experience circulating in L&D and providing newborn care including eyes, vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate / Advanced preferred
• Must provide at least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Electronic fetal monitoring and Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must present proof of current, non-expired certifications and Nursys verification
