This posting is for new generation projects. The successful candidate will be located in the Richmond, VA area and work a hybrid schedule (2 days remote and 3 days in the office) out of Dominion\'s Richmond, VA office. While this is initially a contract position, this position will have the potential to become a direct hire.

$40.00 / hr - $52.33 / hr

Responsibilities
- Review design packages for substation and high voltage generation tie-line projects associated with new solar and BESS generation projects
- Review and provide resolution to third party Owner\'s Engineer\'s comments
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from substation / generation tie-line contractor
- Support projects starting at the design phase and through construction to energization
- Review equipment submittals and commissioning documentation
- Interface with other departments or groups such as Business Development, Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Real Estate, and Operations
- Make occasional day trips to sites in Virginia to help resolve construction related engineering issues
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
2-5+ years of relevant engineering experienceFull knowledge of engineering theories and principlesKnowledge of and experience in power system modeling and electrical engineering principlesSkilled in use of advanced techniques and extension of theories, precepts and practices of substation design (or related sciences and disciplines)Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)Ability to think analytically and solve complex problemsAbility to interpret codes, regulations and practicesEqually effective working independently or in team environmentAbility to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasksStrong planning, organizational and project management skillsPreferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Working knowledge of PJM and NERC policies and proceduresExperience with ETAP and PSSE is preferredExperience with relays and control systemsAn understanding of substation and transmission line engineering is preferredLicenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Virginia or North Carolina Professional Engineer License is preferred but not required.
