Senior Construction Manager
This is an on-site role for a Senior Construction Manager in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects within the Operations Construction team on-site at the Chicago campus. The role involves overseeing both long-term and short-term plans to ensure the successful completion of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate personnel and resources for the projects.
- Assist with preconstruction efforts.
- Oversee all aspects of the project from inception through closeout.
- Review General Contractor / Contractor Project Executive Plans.
- Review trade contracts and bid packages, overseeing the procurement process.
- Develop scope of work and review proposals for General Contractors, Equipment Vendors, Commissioning Agent, and Testing and Inspection Agent.
- Oversee project performance, including project status, procurement, equipment delivery, schedule, cost control, safety, and change management systems.
- Maintain relationships with internal partners, designers, consultants, and General Contractor team.
- Attend and act as the point of contact for GC / Contractor project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award meetings.
- Coordinate with internal teams for inspection and test data review for compliance with specifications and company standards.
- Perform regular project walks to review work in place for progress updates, schedule update verification, invoice, and quality review.
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions, mentoring others, and enforcing the IFE program on projects.
Essential Skills
10+ years of experience in construction management, particularly in data centers.Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of construction practices and data center experience.Experience in construction project management, retrofit, preconstruction, and design-build.Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate within a team.Knowledge of design and construction processes, quality control, costs, schedule, and other techniques to deliver projects on time and under budget.Familiarity with construction delivery methods : Design-build, Design-bid build, CM-at-Risk, and Design Assist.Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.Proficiency in computer software such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, Procore, or similar PMIS, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and OneNote.PMI or PMP certification preferred.Work Environment
The position is located in Northlake, IL and requires 100% on-site presence.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $100.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
