THE OPPORTUNITY

The National College of Education (NCE) at National Louis University is pleased to announce its search for a full-time faculty member at the secondary level. We seek a colleague who can help provide leadership to the program in Natural Sciences Education (biology, physics, chemistry, geology). This is a full-time, 10-month, open-ranking (Assistant / Associate) faculty position. The successful candidate will possess expertise in secondary education to support the growth of teacher preparation programs and to teach graduate-level coursework at the master's level. Candidates will promote the infusion of current research-based and culturally responsive teaching methods into curriculum and instruction in NCE's traditional and alternative Secondary Education programs.

Essential Responsibilities

Teaching content methods courses and practices corresponding to science curriculum expertise,

• Coaching teacher candidates in field-based learning experiences,
• Collaborating across disciplines to analyze teacher and student learning data to continuously design innovative teacher preparation practices.

Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to : budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge / skills, experience, current / previous faculty rank, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
