MRO Buyer / Supervisor
Under the supervision of the Plant Maintenance Manager the MRO Buyer / Supervisor is to provide technical support for production, mechanic and engineering; purchase and supply quality parts and service; and ensure the most efficient and accurate processing and documentation of transactions with the overall goal of minimizing the total cost of transactions without impacting service levels. The MRO Buyer is to control and track budget costs. This position, located at the Indianapolis Bakery plant, reports to the Maintenance Manager and has 2 direct reports in the MRO room.
Job Functions :
- Interact effectively and professionally with vendors & coworkers.
- Create purchase orders for maintenance and operations.
- Select and evaluate vendors and their performance.
- Collaborate with finance to correct tracking and data errors.
- Report anticipated spending accounts for the maintenance and repair budget.
- Negotiate pricing for parts, service, and contracts.
- Manage all purchase orders status / age.
- Oversee maintenance shop equipment maintenance and supplies.
- Work with leadership teams to implement and enforce policies that increase spend visibility and compliance.
- Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of suppliers and capabilities.
- Investigate & report to maintenance manager cycle count differences & percentages
- Prepare part masters, inventory cost, item lists, catalog, out of stock, usage, and similar computer reports for management.
- Supervise two associates in MRO storeroom.
Qualifications : Minimum :
High school or GED diploma, with BS degree in mechanical engineering preferred5 years experience of SAP / MRO experience, with 3 years of experience in inventory storeroom or in an industrial environment.Maintenance purchasing experienceDemonstrated mechanical aptitudeEssential Physical and Mental Requirements :
