Responsibilities Work in a hospital setting, floating across all Med / Surg units Patient population consists of general med / surg cases (no cardiac telemetry) Target nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6, with a maximum of 1 : 7 during higher census periods 12-hour night shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15, totaling 36 hours per week Every other weekend shift is required at the manager’s discretion Self-scheduling is available according to unit needs Unit utilizes Pyxis for medication dispensing, EPIC for EMR, and SBAR communication Orientation consists of 24 hours Navy and / or white scrubs are required Travelers will work in the Centralized Resource Nursing Pool (CNRO) and must float to all Med / Surg floors as needed Assignment to Storm Team or Hurricane Team may be required during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disasters Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) is allowed No additional time off or RTO after booking is permitted Travelers may be consolidated to the centralized office or reassigned mid-contract if needed Requirements Active NC or compact state RN license required Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a hospital med / surg setting BCLS certification required IV start and telemetry skills required Must pass EKG testing prior to start ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred First-time travelers are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622978.
