Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Epic experience and VA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU) caring for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical patients
  • Patient cases include CABG, valve repair / replacement, heart transplant, and lung transplant surgeries
  • Night shifts (4x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must work at least 2 out of the 3 winter holidays; Christmas RTO is not approved
  • Choice of 36 or 48 hour workweeks
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Floating may be required according to facility policy
  • Provide care for post-surgical cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from major heart and lung procedures
  • Must adhere to floating policy as determined by the facility
  • Maximum of 40 hours of RTO allowed per 13-week contract
  • Candidates must disclose any recent background issues prior to assignment
  • Must wait 12 months before returning as a traveler to this system
  • No radius rule is in place for this contract

    • Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license; pending VA license accepted at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Previous experience with Epic EMR
  • Two professional references required
  • Must have ability to care for cardiovascular and transplant patient populations
