Title : Electronic Test Technician

Location : Brookfield, WI

Hire Type : Direct Hire

Salary : $55k-$60k / yr.

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Electronic Test Technician in Brookfield, WI. This opportunity is with a growing company and involves performing board-level repairs, testing, and calibration of electronic components and systems.

Job Duties :

Perform subassembly inspection, unit testing and inspection, fixture testing, and circuit board repair.

Troubleshoot to the component level with equipment being tested.

Decide on allowable variations, determine cause and effect of malfunctions or defects.

Solve inspection problems encountered in process inspection and test.

Work with high voltages and currents.

Provide customer troubleshooting over the telephone.

Perform occasional off-site service calls.

Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.

Comply with all safety regulations.

Qualifications :

Associate’s degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience in electronics and electrical / mechanical functions; up to three years to become fully proficient with products, inspection, and test principles.

Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, bills of material, and specifications.

Strong blueprint interpretation and mathematical skills.

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to operate various hand and power tools, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.

Computer literate.
