JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : Library Clerk

WAGE / HOUR STATUS : Nonexempt

REPORTS TO : Principal

PAY GRADE : Salary Schedule 030

(187 Days)

Primary Purpose

Assist the librarian with effective management of the library, both instructional and clerical. Provide access to a well-organized, smoothly functioning library environment in which teachers, students, and community can take full advantage of the available resources.

Qualifications

Minimum Education / Certification :

• Educational Secretary I Paraprofessional Certificate
• High School Diploma or GED

Special Knowledge / Skills

Minimum Experience :

Telephone, computer / peripherals, copier, facsimile, and other needed equipment

Working Conditions

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors : Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Prolonged use of computer. Moderate to heavy lifting of materials and equipment up to 30 pounds without assistance.
