  • This position is contingent upon a future opening with Gunnison.

Salary : $145,000 - $175,000 / year

Work location : Hybrid, primarily remote with ad hoc on-site work, frequency TBD.

This position serves as a Gunnison employee in support of a federal cybersecurity operations support contract. Join our exceptional group of cybersecurity pros!

Duties and responsibilities include :

  • Design, install, maintain, and support Enterprise IT systems with an emphasis on security infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, incorporating data pipeline configurations.
  • Provide technical guidance on cloud security operations, including AWS, Azure, and O365.
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks such as FISMA, NIST, and CDM.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python to improve security operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors in managing IT infrastructure and security systems.
  • Requirements :

  • Over 10 years of experience in IT system design and support.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience at a senior engineer level or higher.
  • At least 3 years of specific experience with cybersecurity tools and SIEM systems.
  • Experience with a hybrid infrastructure (on-prem and cloud) environment.
  • Possess verbal and written communication skills in explaining complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as executive-level reporting.
  • Experience with cloud security concepts, services, and operations (AWS, Azure, O365) including migration and security hardening.
  • Experience with core virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices including secure code and automation is incorporated into the build, test, and deployment process for security operations.
  • Possess strong scripting skills, particularly in Python, for automation and tool development.
  • Experience in managing a variety of enterprise cybersecurity tools including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms across a hybrid environment.
  • Experience on-boarding and normalizing data including configuring and integrating data pipeline solutions with SIEM platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST, CDM).
  • Possess strong background in infrastructure management : Windows / Linux servers, patching, vulnerability remediation, network appliances, and endpoint security.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and analytical abilities for identifying and addressing security issues and root causes.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
  • Strong scripting capabilities in Python.
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP or CEH.
  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
  • Clearance Requirement : Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

    The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.

    Gunnison's total compensation package also includes bonus and profit-sharing opportunities, depending on company and employee performance. Available employee benefits include :
