Responsibilities Work in a 24-bed ICU unit with high acuity neuro, cardiac, and postsurgical patients Utilize advanced equipment including Alaris pumps, vents, CPAP / BiPAP, pressors, IABP, EVD, ICP, TVP, CRRT, Impella, SWAN, and ECMO Patient ratios typically range from 1 : 2-3, with potential to flex up to 36 beds for overflow 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required Expect floating to all levels of care as needed Block scheduling and self-scheduling options available Uses Epic electronic health record (EHR) Responsible for comprehensive care coordination and patient assessments in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams Care involves advanced life support modalities and hemodynamic monitoring Team support includes intensivists, a resident and hospitalist team, a resource RN, and house supervisor available 24 / 7 Rapid response team support provided Must wear navy blue scrubs Holiday coverage is required per unit schedule Pass / fail EKG testing required on the first day, with study guides provided Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required Current ACLS required within 6 months of hire BLS preferred upon hire, required before providing direct patient care Must pass EKG / dysrhythmia exam on first day (two attempts allowed) Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Critical care certifications such as CCRN, PCCN, or NIH Stroke preferred Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625130.
