POSITION SPECIFICS
The Electronic Materials and Devices Department (EMDD) of the Penn State Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking a motivated candidate to fill the role of a Materials Research and Development Engineer. This position will directly support research and development efforts in electronic materials processing, characterization / testing, semiconductor device fabrication, sample preparation, polishing, and / or materials growth / synthesis. EMDD is a vertically integrated lab with key areas of focus including wide / ultrawide bandgap semiconductors, sensors, ceramics, laser processing, and additive manufacturing.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
For the Research Engineer - Intermediate Professional track : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science and 1+ years of relevant experience. No required certifications. For the Research and Development Engineer - Professional track : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science and no prior relevant work experience required. No required certifications.

Employment with the University requires successful completion of background checks in accordance with University policies. SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $68,200.00 - $115,100.00, including all possible grades. The proposed salary range may be impacted by geographic differential.
