BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Water Aerobics Instructor is responsible for providing participants with a great workout and experience. The instructor educates participants about useful and safe exercises, assists them in achieving exercise goals, modifies moves for the needs of participants and creates a fun workout environment, while promoting wellness for all class participants. This position is contingent.
DUTIES
Teach, organize and supervise a water aerobics fitness class consisting of various age groups and abilities.
Keep records of class attendance and turn into supervisor when program is complete.
Select own music and exercises to use in class.
Keeps management informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems.
Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down.
Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each class.
Teach with a positive upbeat attitude.
Instructs participants on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
Enforce pool rules and policies. Refer ongoing issues to a staff member of the Community Center Leadership Team.
Perform other / related duties as assigned. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

EXPERIENCE
At least two (2) years teaching and / or participating in / experience with specific program area.
EDUCATION
Possess a nationally recognized certification or state license pertaining to the specific activity. Current CPR / First Aid / AED certification or willing to obtain.
RATE OF PAY
Salary commensurate with experience and certification.
Contingent - Professional
$20.00 - $32.00 per hour
