Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level II ICU night shift position requiring a NE or compact RN license and strong critical care skills.
Responsibilities
Work in a 33-bed ICU within an acute care hospitalUnit cares for adult patients including trauma, cardiac, overdoses / substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distressNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2-3 for adultsResponsibilities include titrating drips such as cardiac, insulin, sedation, and managing respiratory equipment up to ventilatorsRequired to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitors with tele tech oversightEMR utilized is EpicNight shifts are 12 hours ), every other weekend requiredFloating is expected to PCU and occasionally to MedSurg with standard ratiosMinimum of two holidays required if assignment covers those datesPass / Fail open-book clinical exam during orientation requires a score of 90% to continue assignmentArtificial nails are prohibited for infection control; refusal to comply results in terminationNurse aides and healthcare support techs available for floor and 1 : 1 assistance as neededOnly one unit-specific orientation shift providedA minimum of 7 requested days off may be submitted per 13-week contract; additional RTO is not permittedBlock scheduling is not approved unless it is weekends onlyDuos seeking the same shift or carpooling are not acceptedCandidates must provide professional references meeting specific recency criteria for considerationRequirements
Active NE or compact (NLC) RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses are not acceptedMinimum of 2 years ICU RN experience requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are requiredAbility to titrate multiple types of critical care drips and manage advanced respiratory supportExperience with Epic EMR preferredDriver's license required to verify residence is at least 50 miles from facilityCandidates may not have worked in any capacity for CommonSpirit-associated facilities (such as CHI or Dignity) within the past yearBenefits
