Pay Range : $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (Depending on experience and certifications)

Job Description :

Francis O. Day Co., Inc., a respected paving and excavation company operating in Maryland and Virginia, is seeking a skilled Quality Control Plant Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure the quality and consistency of our asphalt products through routine inspections, equipment monitoring, and documentation to maintain compliance with company standards and industry regulations. Candidates with a VA plant certification are preferred.

Job Duties :

• Conduct regular quality control checks during asphalt production.
• Monitor and calibrate production equipment for optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate records of test results and production data.
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure safety protocols and environmental regulations are followed.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to streamline operations.
• Report discrepancies and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements :

Work Environment :

The QC Plant Technician will work in a dynamic, physically demanding environment at an asphalt production facility, with indoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to weather, heavy machinery, and high-temperature materials. Safety protocols must be strictly followed. The role involves navigating uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, and operating testing instruments, with potential for extended standing, lifting, and working in dusty, noisy, or odorous conditions. Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime is required.
